Artist Statement

I use translucent paints to create my pictures, layering color on top of color until the final color is achieved. Each layer of paint is essential to the existence of the next layer.  I believe there are also layers to our human existence.   I compare my layers of paints to layers of life, and I see the importance of everything that has passed before us, and everything that will follow. 

I create to communicate positive messages to the world.  My paintings are simple and clean, colorful and bold.   Nature, relationships, and spiritual beauty inspire my images.  I paint from my imagination and I play with color, inviting the viewer to imagine with me. 

I believe we are happiest when we are communicating and creating.  Through painting and writing, I reach a high potential for personal happiness, which I believe has a rippling effect that eventually flows back to my life and to me.
